Australia Post Project A : Flagship Store
A feature wall behind the POS desk will incorporate layers of postal tubes, referencing a key element of the Post Office’s identity. This dimensional arrangement not only adds visual intrigue but also reinforces the connection to the postal service."
What.
Across Australia, Australia Post stores must be reimagined to meet the evolving needs of consumers, embracing digitalisation, fostering community engagement, and taking steps toward a sustainable future. Strengthening community engagement is crucial to positioning Australia Post as a civic hub, transforming physical stores into central spaces where communities can gather and connect.
DESIGN THINKING.
The site itself is designed to enhance community engagement by offering green space, a community garden, and composting facilities. This 'green thumb' approach aligns with Australia Post's commitment to more sustainable practices. The layout features a high-activity ground floor, where core postal services are easily accessible, while the first floor offers shared computers and desks for public use. Additionally, the first floor's versatile space can host workshops, events, or community meetings. Ultimately, this design repositions the Post Office as a civic centre, meeting a variety of community needs.

Australia Post Project B:  Temporary Post Office
What.
Sarsfield is a small town that was effected by the 2019 bushfires and felt the impacts within the community. Their beloved community centre has unfortunately become unsuitable and the Sarsfield community are desperately in need and passionate about building a new centre. Australia Post can provide a community centre and hub that brings together the people of Sarsfield and provides both the Postal and other AusPost services.
DESIGN THINKING.
The design solution will provide a recovery service to help create a space for families to connect and support each other by connecting community members as well as providing an outlet for children to improve their mental and physical health through play.
Climbing equipment and play spaces will accomodate for the children in the community and will establish a safe zone for children during a time they may have lost their homes/ parks/ school ect.  Adults can engage with the space due to the implementation of a picnic/ seating area that can act as a new meeting space to temporarily replace the Sarsfield community centre where meetings and gatherings were held.
